About Eddy
Eduardo “Eddy” Delgado was born and raised in Vidalia, Georgia. From an early age, he learned that hard work and education are the foundation of a secure and honest future. Raised in a working family, he understands firsthand the sacrifices it takes to get by living paycheck to paycheck.
As a former farmworker, Eddy knows the intensity of the labor that powers Georgia’s most important industries and the impact that work has on entire communities.
“As a first-generation American, my first jobs were in pinestraw, blueberry, and watermelon fields, working shoulder to shoulder with my family. I learned early on that the heartbeat of Georgia’s economy isn’t found in a boardroom, it’s in the grit and sweat of our farmers and the rows of crops that feed the world.”
A proud graduate of the Toombs County School System, Eddy saw how much public schools shape the future of rural communities, especially for working-class families. As a former college student, he experienced the financial instability many low-income students face, where the cost of staying in school can mean going without basic needs just to earn a degree.
Through his work as a community organizer, Eddy learned that real change comes from bringing people together around the issues that matter most to their families. As an advocate at the Georgia State Capitol, he has worked within the legislative process to elevate the voices of working folks and has seen how often their priorities are overshadowed by corporate interests.
Eddy is running because working families can’t afford more of the same. For too long, the same policies have left too many Georgians behind. He’s fighting to build a state where hard work leads to real opportunity, where families don’t just survive, but have the chance to prosper.
